Ladies and Gentlemen,
The rain doesn’t seem to be a problem for Vettel either. He timed his run on Inter tyres perfectly to beat Rosberg and will take off at the front (as in no-spray) of the field tomorrow. Second place should had been Alonso’s but for a small mistake, he was brilliant beating Webber by 6 hundreds for 3rd. There was a time gap to Hamilton and Grosjean in the 3rd row, then the surprising Toro Rossos with both Riccardo & Vergne in row 4. Massa & Hulkenberg completed the rain-delayed Q3.
Only one of us at the CFA gave Alonso credit to qualify the Ferrari in the top 3, Sebastian, as he and 7 others collected 2 points today resulting in changes in the standings just before the final showdown. The most significative is Santiago scoring 2 points to Manbos’s nada, giving him a lead of 5 points for tomorrow’s race in their battle for the championship.
The grid for tomorrow:

It all about the weather. The possibility of the wet conditions continuing until race time made the teams to limit their practice laps in order to have sufficient ‘Monsoon’ tyres for the race. The weather forecast calls for showers or light rain by 2pm local time. An interesting development is that several drivers stopped short of criticizing the lack of water displacement shown by the ‘full wet’ Pirellis to the point that the ‘intermediates’ were only fractionally more effective than the supposedly full-tread super soft compound designed specifically to cut through standing water to avoid aquaplaning. Pirelli admitted they are not ideal for the conditions but simply there had not been wet races this season to properly develop them.
Well, the stage is set, a grand finale under the always capricious unpredictability of a wet Grand Prix. Even if the track dries up the teams have absolutely no data on how to best set-up their cars on slick tyres in the cold temperatures.
We know who’s got the very best package, figuring out the rest of the top 6 is going to be a challenge for all of us. Red Bull made clear there will not hand Webber a farewell present, they are more interested in winning 13 races in one season, 9 of them in a row, Still, rain is the great equalizer and we all have our wet-weather favorite drivers. The most interesting statistic in Brasil is that Alonso has been on the podium of this GP seven times since 2005 but has never won the race. That’s the most podiums at a single track that any driver has achieved without a victory.
We will crown a new Champion tomorrow, the title most likely will go to Spain for 2014 in the hands of either Santiago or Manbos. A late charge by reigning Champ Rocco and his Chief Strategist son Joe fell short, they will battle out for 3rd place with Curro and Joe. Carlos looks set for 6th as Tim, Ian, Alberto, Sebastian and I will fight for a spot in the top 10. The last place is unequivocally going Ricardo’s way, unless a crazy race under the showers tomorrow grants the dubious honor to next backmarkers Lou or Ricky.
And for the very last opportunity of glory in 2013, here we go:
