Ladies and Gentlemen,

Is GP time again, we are heading to Silverstone for the 9th round of the Championship.

Let’s briefly review relevant topics since the last race in Austria (in no particular order):

The FIA announced that is planning to introduce in 2015  standing starts after safety car periods. The change has meet widespread criticism from both fans and drivers. This means that drivers will see their hard won advantage in track disappear when the safety car is deployed (same as now), but now they risk losing one or more positions and going through the whole risk as the most dangerous part of the race will be repeated again... The Caterham F1 has been sold, owner Tony Fernandes got tired of pouring money with no hope of even earning a Championship point as “nobody respects the spending cap”. Bernie’s reply is that the big teams should have 3 cars each and the teams without big pockets “better leave the sport”...Niki Lauda is saying they (Mercedes) are losing their advantage to their rivals. He is warning the team to keep developing the current car. “The competition is getting closer” he pointed at the Williams taking away their so far perfect qualifying 2014 record last race. It was a great weekend for Williams, and a terrible one for Red Bull, their worst in years. RB boss Dr Marko is considering billing its engine supplier Renault for their lost revenue blaming them for their poor performance. He went to the press saying: “It would be irresponsible to talk now about the exact figures. The image damage is already beyond repair”. The outspoken Austrian RB Team Director has hinted he would like to entice Volkswagen into F1. He made it clear: “we have to decide on our future engine partner”… And then came Bernie revealing that the legendary Monza GP will disappear after 2016. It could be the media playing Bernie’s game, preparing the Italians for a price hike, otherwise he is ready to take the circus instead to a place of great racing history, like Azerbaijan (I’m not kidding).

Last year our CFA British GP winner was Rocco and karting Champ son Joe with 3 triples for 11 points. It was a tough forecast, the next best score was Curro with two golds and only 8 points. A year ago the Championship leader was Joe followed by Manbos, me, Santiago and Uwe.

Let’s see what Silverstone is preparing for us this time. Let’s connect again tomorrow after the first day of action.

Cheers

Cato
