Ladies and Gentlemen,
Monaco is coming up this weekend, the 6th round of the Championship, and if you believe what’s being said in the paddock this is the race where the Mercedes might NOT win…
If somebody is getting close to the Silver Arrows (not much) is Red Bull, and according to none other than ALO the superior chassis of the RB9 could mark the end of the Lewis & Nico’s run of victories. And of course this is not a real race track and strange things tend to happen, particularly with these new generation F1 cars that are so difficult to drive.
Felipe Massa: “The torque we have from the engine is maybe double what we had last year, and the grip from the tyre is not very high, so Monaco will be a very easy race to crash. I think it will be the toughest race of the season”.
Lewis Hamilton: “I think it’s going to be more challenging this weekend, the cars are heavier so braking distances are a little bit different. The new braking system we have (‘brake by wire’) is more efficient and we have more power so it’s a different beast we’re trying to throw around. I don’t know how it’s going to play out but I do anticipate it’s going to be harder”
Sergio Perez: “It will be difficult. It will be very interesting for everyone, the fans, the media and the drivers. It will be just a new Monaco”.
Something to remember about Monte Carlo is that they have their own unique schedule without track activities on Fridays. That means the first 2 practice sessions are taken place today. That will not affect our own proceedings, you still have to submit your QF picks before Saturday 2pm Monaco local time.
Last year’s CFA winner was Maria with 3 golds for a total of 10 points, and nobody predicted the top 3 qualifiers.
Lets connect tomorrow to analyse today’s practice sessions.
Cheers
