Australian GP 2012 - Results. It's Uwe again, just like last year....

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Exactly what we wanted, a good race to start off the season. BUT was in command from flag to flag; great races by Champs VET, ALO & RAI. No doubt we have a fabulous year a of us.
Uwe was as dominant as BUT in the opening test of 2012 on his way to 12 points; it was déjà-vu 2011 for Uwe once again as he is the early CFA Championship leader and chased by Manbos 3 points behind and 4 a of Maria, Curro, Lou & Tim.
Uwe’s score was impressive: 3 points for each of the top 4 positions. Far behind him 7 members scored two 3 pointers (Maria, Manbos, Tim, Ricky, Lou, Matias & Curro), not bad for such random final results particularly when 2 drivers starting in the top 6 (SCH & GRO) didn’t make it to the end. Unofficially we had established the lowest score ever in a race: 3 points! (that was me!). Most of our gold marks came from the McLaren drivers, we knew they were going to win it and we where almost divided in half with 13 votes for eventual winner BUT and 9 for HAM. Only 4 predicted VET finishing second (Maria, Uwe, Manbos & Curro); our best score after winner BUT was WEB in 4th with 6 picks (Maria, Uwe, Manbos, Fredrik, Tim & Lou). We didn’t get any marks for 5th & 6th, as we never expected ALO (except Manbos) or KOB to make it to the top 6.
So, after the first round it looks like this: Uwe 13 points, Manbos, Lou & Curro in a triple tie for second with 9; Maria & Tim third with 8; then Joe, Fredrik, Ricky, Alberto & Rodrigo with 7; Ian, Erik, rookie IanM, Sebastian & Matias 6; Fernando, Santiago and I with 5; and last Ricardo & Carlos with 4.
I want to thank Manbos in everybody’s behalf for spending the last 3 days and its nights (and almost missing the race altogether) fixing the unexpected last minute problem in our website. It was a challenge but it is now up and running normally. Great effort, we really appreciate it, same for Santi for providing the timely ‘old style’ back-up!
Don’t go anywhere, don’t change the channel, we have back to back races. Malaysia is coming up this weekend (March 23-35) exactly what the doctor recommended after almost 5 months of drought!
‘See you’ this Thursday
Cheers
Cato
