Ladies and Gentlemen,
Time to get in Grand Prix mood. We are going to Canada for the 7th round of the season.
There’s an old saying in Formula 1 that your worst enemy is your teammate, and that’s absolutely true within each team from the front to the back of the field. But of course when either HAM or ROS are on their way to become the 2014 World Champion all the attention is focused on them.
The smiles lasted until Monaco, seems that Lewis has the divine right to win every time and he wasn’t happy with Nico’s tactics, but according to Race Steward Derek Warwick Nico’s reputation as a fair and honest driver was the deciding factor to believe his innocence. (In other words not all the German drivers are Schumachers)
So we have two battles coming up in the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit: between the Silver Arrows for 1st and 2nd with HAM holding the upper hand as he is the king of late braking, and the rest for 3rd place and down with Ferrari and the Mercedes-power teams with a good chance to beat Red Bull in this track that demands high top speeds.
As is now a tradition, a group of CFA associates are making the pilgrimage to Montreal - I hope every one will join us sometime in the future- Let’s see what our impressions are from these new generation Grand Prix cars.
Last year’s Canadian GP winner was Uwe with 11 points -tied with Fernando- with 3 full marks each. Our point average this year is so far the highest in record thanks to the Mercedes domination, so I’m sure we will need more than 11 points to bag this one!
We’ll chat tomorrow evening after the opening day of activities
Cheers
Cato
