Ladies and Gentlemen,
Our opinions from the accident at the start in Spa had been radically opposed. Some in our expert panel asked for even a bigger punishment for Grosjean for spoiling the race at the best track on the calendar while some others consider it as part of racing. This was the 7th time that Grosjean has been involved in a starting collision this year which seems to weight on the decision. Where most of us agreed is that if Hamilton was the culprit there wasn’t going to be any action by the Stewards, as usual...
By that’s behind now, we have another GP at another legendary circuit starting tomorrow, and that’s a new opportunity for redemption after our disastrous outing last Sunday (except for Manbos and Carlos of course). Interesting to see the pre-race odds by the bookmakers in England: the best bet according to them is HAM at 3/1, then at 9/2 BUT, RAI & VET, next ALO at 5/1 (compare MAS at 50/1 in the same car!). Then comes WEB 12/1, tied next at 33/1 ROS, SCH & PER, the Mexican better that teammate KOB 40/1. Let’s see how this scenario evolves after the practise and qualifying sessions. Five different teams have won the last five editions; Button has been second the last 3 times in a row; Hamilton hasn’t been on the podium since his first appearance in 2007; Webber has never finished better than sixth.
I have good news to tell you. We have a new section in our CFA website to make it even more comprehensive and I should proudly say one it is of the best in the world. From the top menu you can access now the “F1 Regulations” sub-menu where you’ll find answers to every question as to how Formula 1 works and operates. For example: do you know exactly what changes can the teams make on the cars after QF and before the start of the race? or how long the cars have to be in ‘Parc Ferme’ before the the mechanics can get them before the start of the race? or how many drivers on each Team can compete for Championship points in one season? It is all there, from Safety Car procedures, number of engines and gearboxes, wet and dry races, penalties and all. We have to give full credit to Santi & Manbos for the new addition, they are constantly working and improving our website and I must say this was particularly a long and elaborate menu, mainly on the programming side. Thanks again, you guys are the best and we are very lucky to have you!
Until tomorrow with the news from Monza
Cheers
Cato
