Ladies and Gentlemen,
This is it; the last round of the season coming up is Brasil this weekend.
We ‘re turning the page not only on 2013 but to a whole era of F1 racing as this will be the last time we hear the normally aspirated V8 engines. As drivers goes, this is the farewell race for the likable Australian WEB and probably the last time we’ll see PER, DIR and even possibly HUL in an F1 car for a while, or forever. Sad to realize that half the grid in F1 are paying drivers; so much for the ultimate racing series in the world.
It will be a different kind of atmosphere this time in Brasil as both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships have been already decided. The last relevant prize at stake will be the second place on the Constructors’’ between Mercedes and Ferrari. Without the customary pressure we can see a different kind of race, only VET and Red Bull will be focused in adding up another record now that it’s within their reach: 9 consecutive wins in the same season.
The Interlagos Circuit always creates good racing, it’s a lively layout with many overtaking opportunities and then there’s the changing weather; as of today showers are forecast for the next few days. When was the last wet race we had? A rainy GP will be a treat to the fans now that VET’s dominance is making audiences going down in numbers.
But for us of course the highlight of the weekend will be the last stand in the CFA 2013 battle: one last chance to achieve glory and beat our fellow associates. Take a look at the standings, I can’t think of a better way to motivate ourselves! http://f1.manbos.com/rankingyear.asp?t=2013
Our last year’s Brasil GP winner was Manbos with 11 points. There was a 7 point spread as 3 members recorded only 4 points which resulted in many changes in the final standings. So, if we don’t have a repeat of the kind-of-uneventful race as last Sunday in Texas we can expect some last minute dramatic changes in the Championship.
Rain anyone?
‘Till tomorrow
