Ladies and Gentlemen:

They call it “The Siesta Grand Prix” for a reason, it never fails to be a predictable high speed procession. The best race was year whenthere were 10 overtaking moves, compare that to 112 in Turkey 2 weeks ago; the last ten editions had been won from the pole. That’s a shame because this is a magnificentcircuit, the problem is that there are 1st gear chicanes before thefastest, most daunting corners, a common disease in the XXI century. And then there’s the fact that most wintertesting takes place here, leaving all the teams with very little room toimprove.

The Barcelona circuit is all about aerodynamics, no track ismore aero-dependent, proof of that is that 17 of the last 20 ConstructorsChampions had won this race on their way to the title. Although nobody isexpected to challenge Red Bull’s current supremacy Ferrari and McLaren areintroducing new aero-kits, the former comprising a complete new design approachafter identifying earlier problems with their wind tunnel.

In CFA news there is always something altering the order behindscenes, and lately is the role of our old benchmark the Black Horse. As we areaware, to excel among the ranks you have to take the necessary chances to beatthe starting order of the top 6, something only about 25% achieve regularly. But lately it was decided to allocate the Black Horse qualifying points tobetter compare its performance with the rest of the group and the results havebeen a disaster; now the BH is leading the standings! In order to make a final decisionon the future of this noble animal I’ll like to hear your opinion on the matter, and what a better time to introduce our latest menu on our Web page, the “Comments”section that has been created by Manbos starting with the Spanish GP.

This is a really interesting feature and I want to inviteyou to participate. Log on our page f1.manbos.comand find “Comments” on the upper menu. It’s divided by language and more importantlyyou can choose to take part as ‘private’ (only CFA members) or ‘public’. I’mvery enthusiastic about this new addition and I’d love to hear your feedback.

‘See you’ tomorrow

Cheers

Cato
