Canadian GP 2011 Race Results -It was wet & wild

Ladies and Gentlemen:

From last to first, Button won the chaotic and very exciting Canadian GP. He punted off Hamilton & Alonso in the process, did 5 pit stops plus a drive-through penalty, “... the best race of my life” he said. Vettel had a blip at the very end and had to settle for second after another master drive. Webber gave us a tremendous comeback to third and Schumacher had his best performance since out of retirement.

The race took 4 hours, it was soaking wet and then it got worst. If rain is mostly welcome by us spectators, this time it almost ruin the party. According to some of our colleagues in attendance, the rain actually deprived us from even a better race.

As you can imagine our scores were pathetic, except for Matias taking this GP with 8 points, the only member with two wins this season. Only him and Maria Elisa (7 pts) scored two 3-pointers with VET-WEB 2nd & 3rd places. We didn’t predict the winner of the race, none of the 21 of us, I can’t even remember if that ever happened before. Twelve of us forecasted ALO to finally beat VET, nine of you thought VET was to win his 6th in a row (only one HAM) I find very interesting that the best paying position was VET’s second place with 9 picks; WEB did good for us with 6 votes and only one had MAS in 6th. That is only 16 full scores, we didn’t predict SCH in 4th or PET in 5th. Our point average was 5, and in another first we all beat the black horse (3 pts).

It was a day for true aficionados, the rain was relentless, every piece of clothing and every one of your possessions was wet, and cold. But the memories will get better as time goes by, it was an amazing display of car control by the very best of the business, and we could be witnessing the best generation of drivers in GP racing.

Next is the European GP in Valencia 24-26 June, I’m sure the good taste from this race will still last.

‘See you’ in 2 weeks, can’t wait.
