Ladies and Gentlemen,
Like ‘a walk in the park’ for Vettel, he now joins Alonso in fourth place in the all-time GP winners list with 32; Alonso charged past and held Webber for second, he now sits 53 points behind Vettel in the Championship with 7 dates remaining in the calendar. We didn’t get much action at the front but Hamilton and Raikkonen provided most of the entertainment mixing with the crowded group fighting for the bottom paying positions. Hulkenberg lived up to his Qualifying performance to finish 5th.
Reigning CFA Champion Rocco has won his second GP of the year with a season record 15 points. With son Joe allegedly calling the shots they hit 5 full scores in 1-2-3-4 & 6 places; it was our best outing so far in 2013 with Curro (13 points in second) Manbos and Carlos (12) scoring golds too in 1st-2nd-3rd-& 4th. Uwe and Alberto joined the party with perfect 1-2-3 (11-10 points respectively). Where we all failed was forecasting Hulkenberg; in fact the only member to include the Sauber driver in his picks was Matias to deservedly collect the 3 full points for his 5th position.
The standings experienced a good shake up with these results: Manbos has now taken the lead of the Championship with a 4 point commanding lead (96); Santiago drops to second (92), I hang up to 3rd (91) but now Rocco and Carlos are back in contention tied 4th (90); Joe drop another spot but remains in the chase in 5th (89) just ahead of the hard charging Tim & Curro (88). Uwe is quietly climbing up to sneak up in the top bracket (87) and Fernando keeps losing ground but still is top 10 tied with Lou (82), The fight at mid-table is fierce with 8 members within 4 points, but nothing comes as dramatic as the battle at the basement where Ricardo has caught Matias to share last place (72) one point behind Ricky and another behind Fredrik. In the game of Snakes and Ladders the biggest winners as of late are Erik & Sebastian breathing away from relegation as well as Rocco and Carlos at the top, and the losers dropping places had been Rodrigo and Fernando. It’s not easy this CFA business.
Our next GP is the always spectacular night race in Singapore in two weeks time - 20-22 September. And I want to remind you we have an assignment still pending: I want to know who are your 5 favorite all-time F1 drivers.
Until then
Cheers
Cato
