Ladies and Gentlemen,
It’s time to get in ‘Grand Prix state of mind’, we have the fourteenth round of the Championship coming up in Korea this weekend.
After VET and Red Bull demolished the field in Singapore two weeks ago the message became loud and clear: get ready for 2014. ALO is 60 points behind VET and if both the driver and the team have a reputation for never giving up the chances are so remote that the team has decided to use Fridays’ sessions to test aero components for next year’s car. Even Red Bull feels so confident that they are switching 70% of their efforts back at the factory to the new regulation’s car.
The Yeongam circuit has become the least favorite among the F1 Circus; it’s layout somewhat sterile and the place has a total lack of atmosphere –too far from everywhere and the grandstands are mostly empty. On top of that VET has won every edition except the first when he retired from the lead. The most exciting news for the weekend are coming in the form of the weather forecast: there is a typhoon in the region expecting to land in the Korean peninsula on Saturday evening. So let’s keep a close eye on that development.
But if the F1 season has lost some of its expectations our CFA Championship battle is more exciting than ever. If we compare to last year’s we can appreciate how difficult this season has been: we are down 15 points at the top of the table from 2012. Rocco had 117 points compared to Manbos’s 105 this year. At least it seems that we get very good results at the Korean GPs: last years’ winner Joe scored 12 points (4 full positions) with 6 members raking up 11 points (Curro, Manbos, Rodrigo, Rocco, Matias & me).
Stay tuned; we have decisions to make starting tomorrow.
Cheers
Cato
