2015 Canadian Gp - Results - Tim & Rocco tie in 1st with great scores

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Another one-two for Mercedes, this time in the right sequence: HAM-ROS. Not a great race but not a bad one either. BOT took a brilliant 3rd when RAI spun when the “engine switch the wrong torque engine map” The Finn is the first non-Mercedes or Ferrari driver to step on the podium this year. VET and MAS delighted the crowd charging past the entire field on their way to 5th & 6th. The result of this GP with the same top 3 teams taking the first six places is becoming too familiar, but we enjoyed great racing today. There was plenty of passing, wheel to wheel battles for most positions. It was a hard’s day work for the drivers, something you can only appreciate watching the race live. I can’t remember the last time we had a Canadian GP with so few drivers -mistakes mechanical or otherwise- or accidents (luckily).

So much to talk about after witnessing a Grand Prix with some of our colleagues, we’ll do that soon, but now let’s get to the point: results and point standings.

I have no idea how Rocco and Tim predicted VET and MAS were going to make so many places. They both scored 4-triples in 1-2-5-6 to win this race with 14 points. We had a few high scores like Danny (12) with 4 golds also, and Carlos, Hector, Matias & Rodrigo with 3 triples (11 points). With rare exceptions we all played safe picking HAM-ROS  in 1st-2nd

but only Danny score 3 points with BOT in 3rd, and only him and Matias predicted Kimi in 4th. Thirteen of us trusted VET to come from the back to score points either in 5th or 6th, but it was f*MAS in 6th place that deliver the goods for Tim and Rocco. Since they tied at 2 points in QF we’ll have to wait until the next GP to crown one of them our 6th different winner in 7 races.

When it come to analyze the standings I’m afraid the news are not good: the rookie is in the lead...Danny is sitting on top with 91 points with Rocco chasing 2 points back. Fredrik (88) has dropped to 3rd, Fernando (87) to 4th and Manbos(84) to 5th tied with Maria. Carlos (83) lost a lot ground and now Tim (81) is showing up in the top 10 pushing me almost out tied with Erik (79). Ian is so far back in last that he is in serious danger of being lapped…

At least our CFA Championship is anything but predictable

Our next outing comes up in 2 weeks at the Austrian GP 19-21 June.
