Ladies and Gentlemen:

This is your official invitation to participate in the 2012 CFA Championship.

This is the mail we had been waiting for a long long time. Four days from today the Grand Prix cars will be let loose in Australia and our life will be at last restored to its normality!

The magic moment when we’re looking forward to begin a new F1 campaign is finally here. And there are good reasons for our expectations running high in anticipation for the upcoming season with 6 world champions on the grid and the possibility of several teams and drivers in position to challenge for wins. The general view after pre season testing is that everybody is concealing their weapons and we could be up for a few surprises this weekend.
In general terms the start of the season points out to a Red Bull-McLaren monopoly for the podium positions with Mercedes-Ferrari-Lotus (former Renault) in equal footing behind those two.
But if the competition looks as good or better than usual the current generation of F1 cars are the ugliest in the history of Grand Prix racing. With the exception of McLaren the front end treatment adopted by everybody else has brought the worst looking cars you can possibly imagine. In all fairness there were not options left for the designers given the new regulation that forced the front end to be lowered in case of accidents. The rule-makers are looking to avoid cars taking off in rear end collisions (remember Webber flying above Kovalainen?) or in case of a side impact where the nose could hit the side of another car where there’s less protection for the drivers.

To properly start our CFA 2012 season you have homework to be done this week: I need your PSP -Pre-Season Picks. In your expert opinion, who will be the top 6 drivers and makers this year?
As always there are many topics to talk about including the addition of a new CFA member, our 22nd, but let`s wait until Thursday March 15 to officially kick off our 2012 campaign. Meanwhile start to lucubrate your first assignment: the top 6 drivers and constructors for the upcoming season. Is VET winning three in row? Will BUT beat HAM again at McLaren? Will Felipe survive the year...? Is Red Bull’s Adrian Newey to outsmart the ‘big guns’ for the third time? All pretty exciting stuff, I want to hear your position.

Until Thursday

Cheers
