Ladies and Gentlemen,

The first battle of the year starts tomorrow, and more than any time in the past, nobody has a clear idea on who’s got the best car.
Pre-season testing in general is very deceiving at best, but this time and after thousands of kilometres of lapping around Jerez and Barcelona we are completely in the dark because the temperatures were too low to get significant data from the new range of Pirelli tyres.
The top teams are playing low key to make any predictions; McLaren, Ferrari concede having ‘good cars but the not fastest’, Mercedes even with the quickest testing times unassumingly  say they ‘probably could win a race’...Lotus (with half the testing miles of Mercedes) are fairly confident and quiet, but all 4 teams are in truth afraid of Red Bull who according to who you ask were either hiding their true potential in testing or as others might say, those concerned faces within the team were for real.
And of course, a lot of the attention will be centered on the 2 most relevant changes on the drivers’ line up: HAM in Mercedes and PER in McLaren.

Now it's just a matter of hours before we have our first taste of reality.

If you had not navigated our website lately, some pleasant surprises await and not only for the way it looks. Manbos and Santi were not quiet during the winter, you know them, they keep improving our fantastic device. You’ll find on the top right corner a Google Custom Search window, to get a good taste of  what it can do I suggest you to type your own name and see what happens.
All the data has been updated to 2013 specs, most importantly the F1 Regulations and the F1 Glossary. I recommend you check them both, you have no idea how much you’ll learn about the sport -I remind you, it’s both in English & Spanish- For those of us that enjoy motorsports’ history come visit another new addition: Blog (Google translator included). The best part of course is the bottom menu, the one reserved exclusively for us CFA members that unlocks our own history and access great tools to enjoy to the pool. And I should tell you that our website keeps adding hits all over the world (I’ve seen the figures). it’s one of the best data F1 info sites in cyberspace.

OK,  fasten your seatbelts and prepare to get back in action. And don’t forget to send your top 5 favorites to win both the Drivers’ and Makers’ Championships plus the Rookie of the year award.

‘Till tomorrow
Cato
