Japanese GP 2013 - QF

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Not much change since 5 days ago, pretty much the same old story: Red Bull is the fastest machine around Suzuka. Mercedes got its two cars at the front in P1 just ahead of Red Bull but when the option tyres came out in P2 to test low fuel settings the status quo was restored with Vettel in front of teammate Webber.
The challenge that represents Suzuka is already claiming its first victims. World Champions Alonso, Hamilton and Raikkonenwent off track spinning, but Maldonado, Bianchi and Perez were not so lucky as they all hit the barriers at different parts of the circuit. As BUT said “(Suzuka) It’s unforgiving, you have to give it a lot of respect”. That’s five drivers (ALO, RAI, PER, MAL & BIA) losing their Friday’s valuable track time, let’s see how this affect them. Perez’s accident at Spoon was severe enough for the team having to switch chassis.
P1- HAM (1.34.157) ROS VET WEB MAS ALO GRO RAI PER RIC
P2- VET (1.33.852) WEB ROS RAI GRO HAM RIC MAS BUT ALO
Temperatures are expected to drop after the hot Friday conditions and this could help Mercedes closing the gap to the runaway Championship leaders. On today’s long run simulations Rosberg was faster than both Red Bulls, and Ferrari wasn’t too far behind. Lotus has lost some ground as they struggle with the harder of the compounds chosen by Pirelli for this race ...

Japanese GP 2013 - Preview

Ladies and Gentlemen,
And then there were five...
Five races left in the Championship with the Japanese GP coming up this weekend. The bad news (for everyone except Red Bull) is that Vettel driving Adrian Newey’s machine has been the dominant force in Suzuka in 3 of the last 4 years and this time he is coming from winning the last 4 GPs in a row. The good news is that Suzuka is one of the great circuits in the history of the sport, revered by all the drivers and where we always enjoy the very best display of their skills.
It’s interesting that at the beginning of the season the CFA experts overwhelmingly anticipated Alonso to become the 2013 World Champion with 14 votes compared to only 4 for Vettel (Maria, Carlos, Tim and me). Raikkonen had a little support (2 votes) and no one expected Hamilton to do it in his first year with Mercedes. Now we are looking at the mathematical possibility of Vettel clinching the title this weekend, his four consecutive crown to write his name in the same page as Schumacher and Fangio. He keeps re-writing the record books but instead of recognition he is getting booed every time he steps on top of the rostrum. Let’s get used to it, he could well win every race for the rest of the season...
Last year’s Japanese GP was won by
Tim with the same correct 1st, 4th & 6th positions for 9 points as
Rodrigo, with Tim taking the overall with better QF marks. Let’s see how we do this ...

Korean GP 2013 - Race

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Third straight pole for VET; HAM’s Mercedes was quick but still 2 tenths away from the lead Red Bull. WEB was third but will service a 10-grid penalty to start 13th, his 3rd place slot will be taken by GRO who has been consistently fast all weekend. The second Mercedes of ROS will line up next in row 2 ahead of both Ferraris. The Saubers surprised everyone by taking row 4; RAI & PER moved up one place to close the top 10.
