2015 Austrian GP - QF

Ladies and Gentlemen,
A bit of a surprise to find VET on top of the silver machines in the timesheets, particularly after the gearbox problems he encountered on both sessions. ROS was the fastest in P1 and again consistently was at the top of P2 (he finished 11 thousandths behind VET). HAM couldn't put a good lap together, his best time (5th) was registered on the hardest of the 2 compounds (soft) as he had a couple of scary moments when looking for a flyer on the super-softs. Like in Montreal, Pirelli has brought the same soft & super-soft choices, which means the race on Sunday could well be a one stopper.

2015 Canadian Gp - Results - Tim & Rocco tie in 1st with great scores

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Another one-two for Mercedes, this time in the right sequence: HAM-ROS. Not a great race but not a bad one either. BOT took a brilliant 3rd when RAI spun when the “engine switch the wrong torque engine map” The Finn is the first non-Mercedes or Ferrari driver to step on the podium this year. VET and MAS delighted the crowd charging past the entire field on their way to 5th & 6th. The result of this GP with the same top 3 teams taking the first six places is becoming too familiar, but we enjoyed great racing today. There was plenty of passing, wheel to wheel battles for most positions. It was a hard’s day work for the drivers, something you can only appreciate watching the race live. I can’t remember the last time we had a Canadian GP with so few drivers -mistakes mechanical or otherwise- or accidents ...
2015 Canadian GP - Race by Cato Batista, 07/06/2015 5:28:43 Ladies and Gentlemen, Mercedes has the front row, which is the natural order these days with HAM in front of ROS by 3 tenths, but the first surprise of the weekend was finding VET out in Q1 when his MGU-H power unit failed. He qualified 15th and on top of that he was penalized 5 places for passing under the red flag. RAI assumed third to keep the 2015 season with only Mercedes & Ferrari qualifying in the top 3, but he was less than a tenth ahead of BOT’s Williams with the Lotus of GRO and MAL close behind. HUL was 7th, his best QF this year ahead of the 2 Toro Rosso and teammate PER. read more
