Fourth round of the season coming up in Bahrain.  

Most of the headlines this week came from within the Mercedes team and how the two drivers with the best chance of winning the 2015 Championship are starting to play mental games this early in the season. But the fact is Lewis is looking more confident and stronger than Nico.

2015 Chinese GP - Race

Ladies and Gentlemen,


After leading every session HAM has taken his 3rd straight pole of the season. ROS was closer this time (4 hundredths) as the Silver cars locked the front row. VET is 3rd again but teammate RAI fell to 6th behind the Williams cars with a costly single mistake in corner 3 that spoiled his lap. The surprise of the day was RIC in 7th, the only Renault-powered car making the Q3 cut. GRO in the much improved Lotus and the Saubers aided by their Ferrari power closing the shoot out.


In one of our best ever sessions 9 members achieved full QF plenums: Maria (to take the lead in the Championship), Alberto, Carlos, Hector, Ian, Joe, Matias, Santiago & Tim bagged the coveted 4 bonus points.

2015 Chinese GP - QF

Ladies and Gentlemen,


Lower track temperatures (13c deg at the start of P1) reestablished Mercedes supremacy, no problem, with HAM dominating comfortably. But in this track with the largest straightline of the entire calendar (almost 1.2k) is pretty evident that Ferrari power is matching Mercedes power. The highest numbers registered in the speed traps were Ferrari-engined cars. The next interesting data came from the Renault-powered Red Bull & Toro Rosso machines beating the Williams, particularly in P2 where RIC ended 4th fastest in the softer-compound simulations. Red Bull switched brake supplier and the new stoppers are nothing but problems, but it’s clear that Renault has delivered the promised power upgrades, although the war of words between both parties continues, now Red Bull supreme boss Mateschitz adding his threats to quit F1 altogether.
