2015 Japanese GP - Race

Ladies and Gentlemen,
A spectacular accident by KVY brought Q3 to a premature halt preventing all the top runners to complete their final flyers. Mercedes takes the front row with Nico ahead of Lewis; Williams & Ferrari will alternate rows 2 and 3 followed by RIC and GRO in row 4. PER couldn't complete a lap in Q3 and will share row 5 with with HUL after his Force India teammate was promoted one spot because KVY requires a new chassis and will start from the pitlane. It was “the worst accident of his career”, his Red Bull was demolished but the Russian walked away from the 20G impact (!).
Since BOT wasn’t considered by anybody we didn’t score any plenums in CFA QF, but 8 of you were smart to predict that this time Nico was going to beat Lewis. Interestingly all this double points came in the midfield making the standings even closer as none of the leaders in the top 7 places made any points. So 2 points for Alberto, Carlos, Erik, Joe, Lorenzo, Ricardo, Santiago & Uwe.
The grid for tomorrow:

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Both practice sessions were practically written off today under heavy rain. Aquaplaning was so bad that only 12 drivers ventured out in intermediate rubber in P1 with Toro Rosso’s SAI on top of the sheets followed by Red Bull’s KVY. Mercedes had its drivers near the top in both sessions but the bad weather left all kind of questions unanswered regarding their ‘mysterious’ lack of grip from last week’s GP in Singapore. It’s expected that the silver cars will take their normal place at the front for this race, particularly since Pirelli’s selection moves now to harder compounds to withstand the high lateral loads of the fast corners of Suzuka: medium (white) and hard (orange). In P2 Red Bull showed its prodigious downforce to get its drivers at the front...split by the Mercedes duo. VET was next in 5th but almost 2 seconds behind.

It was a relief to see the Lotus cars taking to the track as they were locked out of their garages for more legal issues and couldn’t start preparing until late on Thursday. Their equipment arrived late for allegedly “unpaid invoices”. Their deal with Renault was supposed to be resolved by this weekend, but now GRO announced he is leaving them for the new Haas team for 2016. Ecclestone’s office confirmed a couple of weeks ago that Bernie himself took care ...
2015 Japanese GP - Preview by Cato Batista, 26/09/2015 20:31:47 Ladies and Gentlemen, Next stop: Suzuka. The Japanese GP, 14th round of the season is coming up this weekend. News this week comes from the drivers’ market and the possible (and complicated) outcome of the Red Bull’s future in F1. Jenson Button has called a conference prior to the race in Japan and it’s widely believed that he will announce his retirement from the sport. His negotiations with McLaren “and other probable teams” are still underway but people from his close circle revealed that the popular Brit doesn’t want to spend another frustrating year with an uncompetitive car. His possible replacements are Kevin Magnussen or McLaren test driver and GP2 Championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne. Force India has confirmed they will retain PER for another year. His contract negotiations were delayed because there was an offer from Renault (if they take over Lotus) to partner MAL for 2016. The Venezuelan brings 29 million dollars of sponsorship a year which will be greatly appreciated at Lotus. GRO is expected to leave the team and move to the new American outfit Haas to partner Esteban Gutierrez. And except the Renault/Lotus seat there are no more openings left in F1, and the way things are going with Red Bull we might see RIC, KVY, VER and SAI looking for a job ...
