Ladies and Gentlemen,
We had come to that time of the year when we look back at our season and to face reality: how good are we?
2014 Abu Dhabi GP - Results - Ian takes the final, we have a new Champion

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Second World Championship for HAM. A copybook getaway plus mechanical problems to rival ROS delivered a trouble-free, dominant 11th victory of the season. The unpopular double point experiment fortunately didn’t spoil the party, the best man deservedly collected the big prize. Williams filled the other two steps of the podium but the drive of the day belongs to RIC bringing his Red Bull all the way to 4th after starting from the pitlane. ALO gave us his entertaining usual best with exciting wheel to wheel racing although far from the front of the field. A sad farewell to the most historied team with a car that didn’t even deserved its final 9th position. He has the only driver in the last 5 years to win races for Ferrari.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
When it comes to QF Nico clearly has the upper hand over Lewis. This pole was particularly important because the driver in front during the race will have priority in calling the strategy. When the session was over it was announced they were excluded from qualifying because their front wing flaps were flexing under aerodynamic load and were ruled illegal. Both RIC and VETare now going to the back of the grid. It was another impressive showing by KVY to get P7 ahead of BUT’s McLaren and both Ferraris. ALO was very quick but for some reason (saving tyres? his last old engine?) ...

But it was not your typical Friday testing as the teams focused their attention to solve the drop in temperatures that will happen during the course of the race on Sunday. This GP presents a unique challenge as it starts under the sunlight late in afternoon and ends at night time under the floodlights making the cars and tyres behaving completely different as the temperature falls. The other challenge is to understand the compounds Pirelli has chosen this time around: super soft / red - soft / yellow. So far it looks like a struggle to preserve the optionsread more
