Ladies and Gentlemen,
Seems the Mercedes are working even better here than in other tracks. Nico is so far having a smoother run than Lewis after day one, he was quicker on both sessions and if HAM was only 0.019s slower on FP2 the German is lapping consistently faster and trouble free.
The afternoon session was hit by a storm with heavy winds and rain almost flooding one sector (the pitlane) but completely missing the other half of the track. It dried up later on, but over an hour of data-logging track time to learn tyre management was lost, and most teams ...
Austrian GP 2016 - Preview by Cato Batista, 02/07/2016 3:48:59 Ladies and Gentlemen, Let’s get prepared, the 9th round of the Championship is coming up in Austria this weekend. We’re going to the Red Bull A1 Ring, by far not the most exciting track since it was sanitized to get back in the calendar in 2014. RAI should be happy with 4th, he had a 5 seconds penalty on top of dealing with an underperforming Ferrari (at least was much better on race trim for both drivers). HAM couldn't do better than 5th, he was lost to sort out some software issues that affected both his and ROS’s Mercedes during the race (as well as RAI’s) , but turns out Nico was able to figure out the procedure to operate some of the 26 controls in his steering wheel to correct it. The World Champion, same as Kimi, desperately asking for radio instructions to solve the problem (denied by their engineers since it’s banned by FIA). We learn today that to drive modern F1s ...
